Caliber City Community Rules

Last Updated 2025-03-14

Welcome to Caliber City!

Please take a moment to familiarise yourselves with our community rules. These rules exist to ensure fair gameplay, enjoyable roleplay, and a respectful community environment. By participating in the server you agree to follow all rules listed here.

Failure to follow these rules may result in warnings, temporary bans, or permanent removal from the community depending on severity.

Please remember that staff decisions are final. Although you will be given an opportunity to appeal account decisions, a resolution in your favour is not guaranteed.

1. Community Conduct

1.1 Respect Other Players

Treat all players with respect. Harassment, bullying, discrimination, or abusive behaviour towards other players will not be tolerated.

This includes behaviour in:

  • In-game chat
  • Voice communication
  • Discord
  • Forums
  • Direct messages relating to the community

1.2 Discrimination & Hate Speech

Discriminatory language, hate speech, or offensive remarks relating to race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability or nationality are strictly prohibited.

1.3 Harassment

Targeted harassment, stalking, or intentionally making another player uncomfortable is not allowed.

1.4 Toxic Behaviour

Excessively aggressive, hostile or disruptive behaviour that negatively impacts the community may result in disciplinary action.

2. Roleplay Standards

2.1 Stay In Character

While participating in roleplay scenarios you must remain in character.

Breaking character during roleplay situations is not allowed unless required for technical reasons.

2.2 Low Effort Roleplay

Players are expected to make reasonable efforts to participate in meaningful roleplay scenarios.

Actions that intentionally reduce roleplay quality may be considered rule violations.

Examples include:

  • Ignoring roleplay situations
  • Refusing to interact with other characters
  • Intentionally disrupting scenarios

2.3 Fail Roleplay (FRP)

Fail Roleplay occurs when a player performs unrealistic actions or ignores realistic consequences.

Examples include:

  • Acting without regard for character safety or survival
  • Ignoring injuries or roleplay outcomes
  • Performing actions impossible in realistic scenarios

2.4 Powergaming

Powergaming is forcing actions on another player without giving them a chance to respond.

Examples include:

  • Declaring actions that force outcomes on other players
  • Using mechanics in ways that remove another player’s ability to roleplay

2.5 Metagaming

Metagaming is using information obtained outside of roleplay to influence in-character actions.

Examples include:

  • Using information from Discord or streams in-game
  • Revealing information your character could not realistically know

2.6 Random Deathmatch (RDM)

Killing or attacking another player without valid roleplay reason is prohibited.

Violence must always be supported by a clear roleplay scenario.

2.7 Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM)

Using a vehicle intentionally as a weapon against another player without valid roleplay reason is not allowed.

3. Combat Rules

3.1 Random Deathmatch (RDM)

Killing or attacking another player without valid roleplay reason is prohibited.

Violence must always be supported by a clear roleplay scenario.

3.2 Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM)

Using a vehicle intentionally as a weapon against another player without valid roleplay reason is not allowed.

4. Exploits & Cheating

4.1 Exploiting

Abusing bugs, glitches or unintended mechanics for personal advantage is strictly prohibited.

Any discovered exploits must be reported to staff.

4.2 Cheating

Use of cheats, trainers, mods or third-party software that provide unfair advantages is forbidden.

This includes:

  • Aim assist tools
  • Vision hacks
  • Script injectors

4.3 Duplication

Duplicating items, money, or assets through bugs or exploits is strictly prohibited.

5. Safe Zones

Certain areas of the map may be designated as safe zones.

Within safe zones the following actions are prohibited:

  • Violence
  • Robbery
  • Hostage taking
  • Intentional disruption of players

Players must not exploit safe zones to avoid roleplay consequences.

6. Character Rules

6.1 Character Identity

Characters must have realistic names and identities.

Names that are:

  • Meme names
  • References to celebrities or fictional characters

may be rejected by staff.

6.2 New Life Rule (NLR)

After your character dies, you must not return to the location of your death or continue the same roleplay scenario for a reasonable period.

Your character should not remember events leading to their death.

6.3 Character Abuse

Creating characters solely to bypass consequences, transfer assets, or gain unfair advantages is prohibited.

7. Criminal Activity

Criminal roleplay must be conducted in a way that promotes roleplay rather than avoiding it.

Players must:

  • Allow opportunities for interaction
  • Avoid unrealistic or exploitative behaviour
  • Respect server limits on criminal activity where applicable

8. Reporting & Disputes

8.1 Player Reports

If you believe a player has broken the rules, submit a report through the appropriate channel.

Do not attempt to handle rule violations yourself.

8.2 No Public Accusations

Accusing players publicly of rule violations is not allowed.

All reports must be handled through official channels.

8.3 Staff Decisions

Staff decisions are final. If you disagree with a decision you may submit an appeal.

9. Staff Authority

Staff members are responsible for maintaining fairness and enforcing server rules.

Failure to follow staff instructions may result in disciplinary action.

10. Advertising

Advertising other communities, servers, or services without permission is not allowed.

11. Use of Voice & Communication

Players must use voice communication responsibly.

The following are not permitted:

  • Ear rape / excessively loud audio
  • Soundboards used to disrupt roleplay
  • Voice changers used to evade identification

12. Common Sense

Not every situation can be covered by written rules.

Players are expected to exercise common sense and act in good faith to support enjoyable roleplay.

If an action is clearly intended to disrupt gameplay or gain unfair advantage, it may still be considered a rule violation.
